Financial technology company, Iress, has introduced a new way of working that entitles all permanent employees up to six long weekends every year - on Iress.
From January 2022, all permanent employees and fixed term contractors at Iress will be able to take a Friday or Monday off work for up to six days per calendar year, with no impact to their leave balances or pay.
Iress CEO, Andrew Walsh, said: “I am very excited to introduce The Long Weekend to our people at Iress. Whether our people have been at Iress for one week or 10 years, they’ll be able to access The Long Weekend during the year for extra time out to rest and recharge.
“At Iress, we recognise the importance of work life balance and the need for increased flexibility in working arrangements to enable people to better manage their personal and work demands through considered and targeted approaches. We also recognise the positive impact this can have on business outcomes and productivity.
“Changing the way we work to include regular extended weekends provides us with the ability to stop, take a breather, clear our minds and come back to work with renewed energy and perspective.
“We strongly believe this initiative is going to enable all of us at Iress to achieve the bold, exciting goals we’ve set ourselves, to make good progress in our own personal growth and development goals, and maintain a healthy balance in all aspects of our lives.”
The Long Weekend is the latest addition to Iress’ employee offering, which includes reduced hours at full pay when an Iress employee has a child starting primary school - to assist with the transition to school during the first term. In addition, employees returning from parental leave (up to 17 weeks’ paid leave at full pay plus 9 weeks’ paid leave at half pay) can elect to return to work on less hours for four weeks but still be paid their full salary.
